In 2006 I made no public comments or endorsements, feeling it was appropriate for the USCF President to be nonpolitical and "above the fray." In view of the outcome I now consider this a mistake, and believe that with active campaigning I might have been able to avoid the electoral disaster (Sloan) that resulted.
THE 2013 ELECTION
There are four Executive Board seats to be filled this
year, and six candidates. I am not eligible to run after being on the
Board for the past 8 years, and also leaving the Board, after 6 years, is Jim
Berry. Ruth Haring and Mike Atkins are running for re-election, The other
candidates are Randy Bauer, Chuck Unruh, Beatriz Marinello and Tim Redman.
All candidates are elected at large,
so the four candidates with the most votes of these six will be elected. Only
registered voters may vote (the registration deadline was March 31, however
anyone who was registered for the 2011 election and whose USCF membership did
not lapse is still registered.
