In 2006 I made no public comments or endorsements, feeling it was appropriate for the USCF President to be nonpolitical and "above the fray."  In view of the outcome I now consider this a mistake, and believe that with active campaigning I might have been able to avoid the electoral disaster (Sloan) that resulted.

THE 2017 ELECTION

There are four Executive Board seats to be filled this year. The first three are for three year terms and the fourth place finisher will serve a one year term.

I have served on the Board together with Mike Nietman and Allen Priest, and consider both excellent board members. I intend to vote for both.

The other candidates are Lakshmana Viswanath, Fun Fong, Ryan Velez, and Hal Sprechman. All appear to have the potential to make good board members. I am not aware of any negatives about any of them. I have not decided who to vote for.
