CHUCK UNRUH
Chuck is the only Executive Board candidate this year who has
never served on the Board. However, he is very familiar with USCF issues, having
served as chair and member of the Finance Committee, as a Delegate, and as
a Life Management Assets Committee member.
Chuck
is the owner and President of many small energy related firms. He has served on
both private and public corporate energy boards. In the field, he operates,
drills and explores for oil and gas in several Oklahoma counties. His specialty
is turning around distressed energy companies.
He is a long-time chess player, three-time Oklahoma
State Champ, the USCF Armed Forces Champion in 1975, and long active in a USCF
Finance Committee that has led the USCF to fiscal stability.
He is one of only about 13 USCF Benefactor members. If elected,
Chuck plans to grow the USCF from a position of financial strength through
conservation of the current assets, patron gifts, and investments. In Chuck’s
view, the restructured USCF of the last Delegate's Meeting, along with
continuing harmony in USCF governance, should appeal to future chess
benefactors.
