These are interesting and difficult times for the USCF. Due to
the malfeasance of board members Susan Polgar and Paul Truong,
including a costly, frivolous legal action commenced in Lubbock,
Texas, the USCF is in danger of financial destruction. Make no
mistake, board member Susan Polgar has sued the organization she
has a fiduciary duty to protect for the dual purpose of
silencing her USCF member critics and controlling the
organization for her own ends.
The USCF membership must set aside many differences and cast
their votes so as to keep Lugo, Korenman and Hecht off the USCF
board. Their election will, in my opinion, give control of the
organization to Polgar and Truong. We can not allow this to
happen.
I note that Leroy Dubeck and Tim Redman have endorsed Bill
Goichberg. This is an unprecedented display of unity for the
USCF’s sake. I applaud them and join them in this endorsement.
Therefore, effective
immediately, I hereby withdraw my candidacy for the executive
board of the USCF. I urge those who were planning to vote for me
to cast their votes for
Bill Goichberg
Ruth Haring
Jim Berry
Mike Atkins
To those who urged me to run and supported my candidacy for the
board, I extend my deepest appreciation. If I have failed you by
my withdrawal, I can only apologize and ask for your
understanding. I urge you to continue to work with me in earnest
to help the USCF survive and prosper. There is so much good to
be done once the negativity and malfeasance of Susan Polgar,
Paul Truong and their supporters is put behind us.
Chess is the most beautiful game ever created. Just ask any kid
at a scholastic tournament or an octogenarian playing across the
board from you. Chess will always survive. The USCF may not.
Please. Please vote for the candidates above.
