RUTH HARING
Ruth
has served four years on the USCF Executive Board, including two years as
President and two years as Vice President. Ruth joined USCF when she was a
teenager and rapidly became one of the top women players in the country,
representing the USA in five Chess Olympiads. Ruth earned the title of Woman
International Master in 1975 when she won a playoff match to qualify to
represent the USA in the 1976 Interzonal. Ruth was a Program Manager at eBay
specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. Earlier, Ruth had a technology career
at IBM where she was a Program Manager for IBM’s consulting arm-IBM

in the US and at FIDE meetings abroad. If re-elected, she plans to emphasize
marketing efforts, provide better representation for our players and parents,
improve membership retention, improve fund raising for the Olympiad and other
events, and "spread the word that it is FUN and COOL to play chess."
